What is Hypnotherapy?

Hypnotherapy is a gentle, non-invasive way for people to understand themselves and make positive long-term changes at the subconscious level.

Hypnotherapy is therapy done under hypnosis; it is a highly effective and efficient way to make positive changes because it works with the subconscious mind. The subconscious mind is the deeper part of the mind, which holds our beliefs, habits, patterns of behaviour and memories that drive our behaviours. Most of our behaviours are done automatically at the subconscious level, meaning that we don’t consciously think about them before doing them. For example have you ever driven your car from A to B and when you’ve gotten to B thought to yourself, “I don’t remember driving here?” That is because once driving is learned and repeated it becomes an automatic process that is stored at the subconscious level. So your subconscious is actually doing the driving.

Hypnotherapy can be used to help a range of issues including and not limited to:

  • Anxiety
  • Stress
  • Alcohol issues
  • Eating disorders / food issues
  • Increasing confidence
  • Fears and phobias
  • Pain management
  • Depression
  • Insomnia & Sleeping issues
  • Childhood trauma
  • Unwanted habits
  • and many more

Each session includes a free personalised recording.

What does Hypnosis feel like?

Hypnosis is a naturally occurring state that we go in and out of regularly throughout the day. When you are absorbed and focused in a task e.g., reading a book or watching television you are in a trance state just like hypnosis. When you are falling asleep your level of consciousness starts to drop and the mind and body feel more relaxed, this is the same state of consciousness attained during hypnosis. You are not asleep during hypnosis, and you will remember most of what has been said. Hypnosis can be reached by relaxing the body and focusing your attention, this is done with specific imagery and relaxation techniques, which the therapist guides you through. You may feel deeply relaxed or you may feel like your just lying/sitting there (there is no right or wrong thing to feel). All hypnosis is self-hypnosis, you are 100% in control, and you cannot be made to do or say anything you do not want to. Most people find the experience very relaxing and enjoyable and want more!

Diana was warm, open, and made me feel completely at ease. I don’t know how she did it but in just one session she helped me to break a habit I had been unable to shake for over 20 years. I found the take home recording was a useful tool to give myself a refresher every week or so. Plus the session itself was very calming and relaxing. For anyone sitting on the fence, I really do recommend giving it a go. Thanks Diana.

Professional

From the moment we met I felt comfortable, relaxed and supported to discuss my intentions for hypnotherapy with Diana. I have had three sessions now and each one leaves a deeper, more profound impact on my wellbeing and productivity. Through Diana’s guidance I have been encouraged to explore my subconscious and arrive at clear and positive conclusions that leave me empowered and determined. I can’t recommend hypnotherapy with Diana enough.

I saw Diana because I wanted to stop biting my nails. In just one session I got rid of the habit. She also gave me a recording that I could listen to at home that I found really helpful. Can’t recommend Diana enough.

Skype Sessions

We are lucky to live in a day and age where location is no longer a problem. All sessions are offered online via Skype from the comfort of your own home (I will help you to set it up of you don’t have it). Therapy and hypnosis is just as effective done via Skype and many find it more convenient and comfortable. All you need is a computer with a good camera and a good wifi connection.
